Many Woodlands of Gainesville residents will be voting via absentee ballots next week, but if not below is an article highlighting the various UF and Gainesville voting options for students.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The election on Nov. 4 may set a record for voter turnout in Alachua County. In addition to being a presidential election, there are nine county referenda on the ballot. This will add to the time required for voters to make their selections. Voting locations may become congested at times.
Most UF undergraduate residence halls are zoned to vote in Precinct 31, located in the Reitz Student Union. The voting location for residents of the Lakeside Residential Complex, Precinct 44, is the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
For UF graduate and family housing residents: Corry Village and Diamond Village will vote in Precinct 31 at the Reitz Student Union; Maguire Village and University Village South will vote in Precinct 44 at the Phillips Center; and Tanglewood Village will vote in precinct 59 at the Days Inn on University Ave.
An alternate to voting on Nov. 4 is to vote early at the office of the Supervisor of Elections in the County Administration Building at 12 S.E. First St. Early voting also is available at the Tower Road Branch Library and the Millhopper Road Branch Library. The last day to vote early is Nov. 1.
